Our History

CANAMMEATS started in 1991 by Mr. David Munro in a small office of 300 square feet on Gunn’s Road near the heartland of the meat packing business at St. Clair and Weston Rd. in Toronto. The company started out as a wholesale distributor with its niche service of distributing boxed meat from the USA and Canada to local independent butcher shops, jobbers and processors. In the mid 1990s it leased its own cold storage facility and expanded its operation to include direct importing from Australia, New Zealand and later from South America. At this point the company had expanded to 10 employees, operated its own trucks locally and distributed to all of Canada.

In the mid 2000s the company entered the export market with Mexico being our main focus and entry point. Today the company with its new trading name CANAMMEATS distributes and trades meat all over the world. Our products include beef, pork, chicken, lamb, goat and veal. Our main export markets are Mexico, Japan, Russia, and China. We own a fleet of trucks for distribution to our local markets, and operate our own federally approved refrigerated storage facility (approximately 25,000 square feet). We also maintain a satellite office in Atlanta, Georgia and have a staff of 45 employees that can speak and communicate in 10 different languages. The company is well positioned to continue its growth by the support and leadership of the next generation Mr. Craig Munro, President.
